Lightning Talks

The theme of InSuDoc2025 is “Development of Academic Identity”. During the symposium component of the event, participants will be invited to offer a lightning talk (3 minutes per person), elaborating on the most significant aspects of their academic identity.
Topics that participants can covered during their 3-minute lightning talk include research interests, theoretical frameworks of reference, preferred methodologies, past educational background, and future academic goals, among other topics. Lightning talks will be offered verbally. Slides will not be used. Participants can use their own personal notes or even follow a written script if they wish.
The purpose of the lightning talks is to help participants to construct and share with others their own academic narratives. Questions that participants may want to answer during their 3-minute talk are: How did I become interested in research and academia? Why did I choose to research a particular topic or use a particular theoretical framework or research methodology? What guided and led to my choices in academia? Where do I hope to go in the future?
Giving some thought to such questions and forming a coherent narrative about one’s academic identity will help junior scholars to understand themselves more deeply and become more confident when presenting themselves to the outside world.
