Dr. Alfredo Bautista

Chair

Dr. Alfredo Bautista is Associate Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Early Childhood Education at EdUHK. His research focuses on teaching practices and teacher professional development. Before joining EdUHK, he worked in Spain, Canada, United States, and Singapore. Alfredo is the Editor-in-Chief of the ‘Journal for the Study of Education and Development’. He serves as Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member of other five international journals. He is the Chair of the Organizing committee of InSuDoc2024.

Prof. Kerry Lee

Vice-Chair

Prof. Kerry Lee is the Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Director of the Centre for Educational and Developmental Sciences. Trained as a cognitive developmental psychologist at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University, his work focuses on mathematical achievement, working memory, and the development of executive functioning. He has published extensively in top-tier journals and is an associate editor of Learning and Individual Differences.

Dr. CAPIO, Catherine Mamaid

Member

Dr. CAPIO, Catherine Mamaid researches on the intersecting areas of motor development, physical activity, and health in promoting better outcomes that start in early childhood. She comes from a background of clinical practice, research, and government policy. Catherine has studied and worked in Asia, Europe and the Pacific, and has been supervising PhD and EdD students in Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Dr. Jianbin Li

Member

Dr. Jianbin Li received his Ph.D. (cum laude) in developmental psychology. His research interest centers on child and adolescent development and teachers’ well-being. He has published over 80 papers on peer-reviewed journals, such as Perspectives on Psychological Science and Review of Educational Research. He is now serving as editorial member for several journals such as Learning and Individual Differences and Stress & Health. He is recognized as Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science (APS).

Andy Lau

Andy Lau is a Project Officer in the Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong, with over 8 years of experience in tertiary education sector. Andy specializes in event management and information technology and is responsible for promoting the department to overseas institutions.

Dorothy Li is an adept Project Assistant with a background in content creation and event planning. She supports internationalization and community engagement initiatives through promotional activities, and enjoys collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

Ms. Sofie Chua

Ms. Sofie Chua Shuyi is a senior research assistant with The Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. Her main work involves supporting the internationalization efforts of the Department through facilitating Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) activities.

Ms. Yana Cheng

Yana Cheng is a research assistant at The Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. She has been providing support in digital media, graphics design and web development.
