Mr. Eric Cheng
Mr Eric Cheng is an assistant project manager with solid experiences in integrated marketing communications and event management, who mainly provides support in regard to internationalization, community engagement and research for the Department of Early Childhood Education at EdUHK.
Ms. Maggie Cheng
Ms. Maggie Cheng is a Project Officer at The Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. She provides support for the Internationalization Team and projects of the department.
Ms. Sofie Chua
Ms. Sofie Chua Shuyi is a senior research assistant with The Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. Her main work involves supporting the internationalization efforts of the Department through facilitating Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) activities.
Ms. Yana Cheng
Yana Cheng is a research assistant at The Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. She has been providing support in digital media, graphics design and web development.
Dr. Alfredo Bautista

Dr. Alfredo Bautista is Associate Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Early Childhood Education at EdUHK. His research focuses on teaching practices and teacher professional development. Before joining EdUHK, he worked in Spain, Canada, United States, and Singapore. Alfredo is the Editor-in-Chief of the ‘Journal for the Study of Education and Development’. He serves as Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member of other five international journals. He is the Chair of the Organizing committee of InSuDoc2024.
Prof. Kerry Lee
Vice-Chair
Prof. Kerry Lee is the Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Director of the Centre for Educational and Developmental Sciences. Trained as a cognitive developmental psychologist at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University, his work focuses on mathematical achievement, working memory, and the development of executive functioning. He has published extensively in top-tier journals and is an associate editor of Learning and Individual Differences.
Dr. Derwin Chan

Dr. Derwin Chan is an applied social psychologist with diverse research interests in the areas of health education, sport and exercise science, and behavioural medicine. He is an Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Education University of Hong Kong. He is appointed as the Editor-in-Chief in Stress and Health, Executive Editor in Health Psychology Bulletin, and editorial board member in 6 scholarly journals.
Dr. Eric Kong

Dr. Eric Kong has obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education. As a musician and music educator, his research interests are centered on the sociology and psychology of music education, as well as music in early childhood education and teacher education. With his practical experience as a music educator, he has recently authored a book titled "Cultural Capital and Parental Involvement: A Comparison of Students' Music Participation between Beijing and Hong Kong", which has been published by Springer.
Dr. Jenny Chan

Dr. Jenny Yun-Chen Chan is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining EdUHK, she received her PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and conducted research in Learning Sciences and Technologies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Chan’s research examines the mechanisms and cognitive processes involved in mathematical development. Her work focuses on the effects of (a) perceptual and embodied features in the environment and (b) cognitive, affective, and social factors on mathematical learning. Currently, she collaborates with stakeholders to study their interactive effects on mathematical development.
Dr. Jianbin Li

Dr. Jianbin Li received his Ph.D. (cum laude) in developmental psychology. His research interest centers on child and adolescent development and teachers’ well-being. He has published over 80 papers on peer-reviewed journals, such as Perspectives on Psychological Science and Review of Educational Research. He is now serving as editorial member for several journals such as Learning and Individual Differences and Stress & Health. He is recognized as Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science (APS).
Dr. Tik-Sze Carrey Siu

Dr. Tik-Sze Carrey Siu is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Early Childhood Education at The EdUHK. She is interested in social-cognitive and social-emotional development in infants/toddlers and preschoolers. She studies how early experiences in familial and early childhood settings affect children’s social understanding and behaviour. She is working on projects related to infant-toddler pedagogy in Hong Kong and across cultures. She is also interested in young children’s early sensitivity to music and studies their social responses during music-making.
Dr. Weipeng Yang

Dr. Weipeng Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Education University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on advancing the sciences and practices of learning in early childhood. He is the Editor of the Journal of Research in Childhood Education (JRCE).
