Dr. Alfredo Bautista
Dr. Alfredo Bautista is Associate Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Early Childhood Education at EdUHK. His research focuses on teaching practices and teacher professional development. Before joining EdUHK, he worked in Spain, Canada, United States, and Singapore. Alfredo is the Editor-in-Chief of the ‘Journal for the Study of Education and Development’. He serves as Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member of other five international journals. He is the Chair of the Organizing and Research Committees of InSuDoc2023.
Dr. Derwin Chan
Dr. Derwin Chan is an applied social psychologist with diverse research interests in the areas of health education, sport and exercise science, and behavioural medicine. He is an Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Education University of Hong Kong. He is appointed as the Editor-in-Chief in Stress and Health, Executive Editor in Health Psychology Bulletin, and editorial board member in 6 scholarly journals.
Dr. Weipeng Yang
Dr. Weipeng Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Education University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on advancing the sciences and practices of learning in early childhood. He is the Editor of the Journal of Research in Childhood Education (JRCE).
Dr. Tik-Sze Carrey Siu
Dr. Tik-Sze Carrey Siu is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Early Childhood Education at The EdUHK. She is interested in social-cognitive and social-emotional development in infants/toddlers and preschoolers. She studies how early experiences in familial and early childhood settings affect children’s social understanding and behaviour. She is working on projects related to infant-toddler pedagogy in Hong Kong and across cultures. She is also interested in young children’s early sensitivity to music and studies their social responses during music-making.
Dr. Eric Kong
Dr. Eric Kong has obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education. As a musician and music educator, his research interests are centered on the sociology and psychology of music education, as well as music in early childhood education and teacher education. With his practical experience as a music educator, he has recently authored a book titled "Cultural Capital and Parental Involvement: A Comparison of Students' Music Participation between Beijing and Hong Kong", which has been published by Springer.
